Additional PalmOne PalmPilot Professional Organizer Information
|
3Com changed the world of computing when it released the PalmPilot, a powerful, useful 1 MB computer you could put in your pocket. The PalmPilot Professional is an up-to-date version of the original, with a backlit display, trim design (4.7 inches x 3.2 inches x 0.7 inches), and the ability to link quickly with a desktop PC or Mac. In addition to six keys that allow the user to navigate among the appointment, calendar, and contact information, the PalmPilot Professional includes a stylus for touch-screen operations and on-screen writing, for which you have to learn a slightly modified script for top performance. The Professional also includes a synchronizing cradle for exchanging e-mail, appointments, and contact information with your PC (Internet magazine gave PalmPilot top honors for its synchronization); all the software you need to manage tasks, track expenses on the road, and organize and compose e-mail (a modem and software are available to transmit messages); batteries; an adapter; and a leather slip-case. The PalmPilot Professional has garnered a number of awards, including an MVP and 5-star rating from PC Computing; Editors' Pick from Home Office and Small Business Computing; Best of 1996 from PC Magazine; Best of Byte from Byte magazine; and a stellar rating from Windows Sources. --Patrick O'Kelley

What Customers Say About PalmOne PalmPilot Professional Organizer:

The use of non-speacialized batteries is very great advantage, since specialized batteries may disappear from the market. It does not come with a user manual, but it is so simple that it is essentially self-teaching for my purposes. I use the PalmOne Pilot primarily as an appointment and date book, for which is is very convenient and quick and easy to use, with rapid access to all information. I have not tested its computer links yet, but the system is so simple that I am sure it will work well.
Hats off to ED. I think he relized that when it comes to electronics, I need all the help I can get. My experience in purchesing my Palm Pilot was without a doubt the fastest and smoothest transaction I have ever had on line. Someone by the name of Ed, answered all of my questions and went out of his way to supply all my needs.
Next time I'll go to a retailer and not on line. Perhaps it's my lack of computer know-how, but there weren't any instructions sent with it. I'm sorry I spent my money on a product that didn't work. It downloaded to my computer fast and easily--the hand held wouldn't sync with the computer.
The only complaint about this item is there is only one megabyte of memory. This palmtop is very sturdy and small in size. The built in touch-screen calculator is very cool. This PalmPilot is good at storing phone numbers in Alphabetical order. This is a great item. You can get a wide variety of programs and games off the internet. It has a sensitive touch screen and a bright Backlight. It is Made in the U.S.A.
I have since upgraded to a Palm XT. This is still an excellent PDA, but to syncronize with Office it only works through modem.
